The Resilient SLP is:
A place on the internet for Speech-Language Pathologists (SLP's), to gain strength, wisdom, creativity, laughs, and resilience of the growing challenges we face across all settings and populations. All this will be brought to you by any of the following mediums: podcasts, blogs, interviews, materials, webinars, trainings, and books. Many of these are coming soon!
The Resilient SLP is for:
Speech-Language Pathologists (SLP's), but this information can also be very useful for anyone working in the same settings as SLP's, including (but not limited to 😊): hospitals, schools (public & private), skilled nursing facilities (SNF), home health, assisted living facilities, private practice, government programs, and outpatient facilities. Yes, my target audience is for SLP's (more about me under "About"!), because (spoiler) I am an SLP and that is what I know I can truthfully write about and write specifically too. I have never been a teacher, a paraprofessional, a nurse, etc. But that does not mean I haven't observed their hardships while working along side them. I fully believe this information is able to help anyone working in the settings above, or in any setting in general!
The Resilient SLP can help with:
Raise your hand if you have ever been personally victimized by your workload (yes, that was a Mean Girls quote!). But seriously, I know I've had and I'm sure plenty of those reading this have been too. As stated previously, the tools provided throughout The Resilient SLP are not just for SLP's. They are for anyone who could use some help, some community, some laughs, a venting session, or some motivation about a very too common problem: we are overworked and underpaid, hence may I add under appreciated. This then can lead to feelings of exhaustion, frustration, maybe even anger (or this that just me?). I've seen way too many hardworking people fall into this hole, myself included, and I wanted to through my hat into the ring to offer advice to help fix it. My ideas are definitely not a one size fits all, or the end all be all, but if I can just help one person it's completely worth it.
